Metroid Prime 4 confirmed for the Nintendo Switch

By Jon Porter

During its E3 2017 livestream Nintendo confirmed that Metroid Prime 4 is in development.

However, aside from showing off the game’s logo, details on the new game were scarce, with Nintendo stopping short of confirming a release date, developer, or even officially stating the game’s platform.

The previous Metroid Prime game’s were developed by Retro Studios, and since the developer currently has an unannounced title in development, it seems safe to assume they’re behind the new game.

The Metroid Prime games, released between 2002 and 2007, were some of the most critically acclaimed games on the Gamecube and Wii consoles. In 2009 the three games were re-released together for the Nintendo Wii console.

We’re looking forward to receiving more information about the new game in the coming months.
