Dark Souls 3 review

Update: Have yourself a “sick” day. Dark Souls 3 is finally available worldwide.

Since we last spoke, I’ve pushed through even more of the game. As usual, I’ve found myself between a rock and a hard place. But I’m painfully close to finishing it. Just one more boss. Phew.

So, has my opinion of Dark Souls 3 changed during the past week? Of course not. If anything, my interest has deepened along with my more refined handle of the game’s many locales and mechanics.

In my review below, I praise FromSoftware for getting the small things right with Dark Souls 3. Another example that I only recently discovered is the new toggle option for the heads-up display (HUD.) This game is gorgeous and you can now remove the screen’s informational widgets so you can take perfect screenshots. It also acts to make the game more immersive.

All said, if you’re itching for a satisfying challenge that you’ll want to keep playing even when you’re finished, you’ve come to the right place.
