Update: Star Wars Battlefront will get a technical beta on PS4 and Xbox One in early October. The beta will feature the Walker Assault on Hoth map from The Empire Strikes Back and will support matches of up to 40 players.
Also part of the beta will be the survival mission on Tatooine that some gamers got a chance to play at E3, and a completely new mode called Drop Zone. More details on this mode will be coming in the next few weeks, Sony said.

While the original Star Wars Battlefront games had their fans, anticipation for the upcoming reboot has reached fever pitch. It’s a combination of factors; a new Star Wars movie is out later in the year, developer Dice has pedigree in this genre with Battlefield, and the latest generation of consoles are finally able to deliver the sort of visuals we’ve seen in the movies.
