SteelSeries’ gaming headsets might just be the gaming community’s best-kept secret. They essentially changed the landscape, helping to evolve headsets from mere bass-heavy machines with overly hyped highs to an audiophile’s wet dream. Case in point: the Arctis 7, which earned several accolades and made it to our best PC gaming headsets list.

It’s been a little over a year since SteelSeries released Arctis 7. One might guess they used all that time to perfect its small imperfections because the Danish company just released their newest headset line, the Arctic Pro; and we must say, we’re simply giddy about it.

We had the pleasure of taking its flagship model, Arctis Pro + GameDAC, for a test run before its consumer release. And not only are we impressed by its sound quality and great features, but we’ve also found that it corrects for Arctis 7’s minor inadequacies.

Be forewarned: at $249 (about £180, AU$320), it isn’t the cheapest, but it’s not at all a bad price for a set of high-end headsets. It’s a price we’d gladly pay for beautiful sound.
